WHO WE ARE ?

Civic Involvement Goals:

  • To reinvigorate the Neighborhood Association through outreach and education.
  • To implement the Morningside Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Plan.
  • Identify new and enhance existing park land per Morningside Neighborhood Association Neighborhood Plan.
  • Identify opportunities for tree planting to enhance our canopy.

FUNCTION

MNA Board volunteers provided two-way communication between citizens and local government. When people want to change something about their town, they usually connect with their neighborhood association to find out how to have their concerns heard by City officials.

That also works the other way, when City officials often contact MNA to weigh in on issues pertaining to public safety, parks, land use, and traffic transportation.

RESIDENTS

Morningside neighborhood residents get involved in local-decision making that affects their neighborhood. Such as: Land Use, City budget, park improvements, crime prevention, etc.

With the help of City of Salem staff providing information to MNA we also help connect citizens to City resources.
